Over 1,000 descended on the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London to hear co-founder of ViSalus speak. Ryan Blair is the best-selling author of “Nothing to Lose” which tells his fascinating story of how he found a way out of the gangland culture he grew up in, got out of a life of crime, and became a multi-millionaire philanthropist.
Ryan’s talk was inspirational. He explained how he has advised leaders in all walks of life about success principles, and that it boils down to one thing. It’s not so much what you do that leads to success, it’s often what you don’t do that leads to success. Successful people more often than not have made sacrifices that make them more successful than other people.
I was thinking about what sacrifices I am willing to make. Already I have eliminated alcohol from my daily routine, this would be considered a huge step by many, but I have to say I don’t really miss it. I’m feeling so healthy it is well worth the sacrifice of turning down a drink and being called boring.
I’ve also sacrificed around 4% of my week to work out. I go to a local gym 5 days a week to exercise to help reduce fat and build muscle. This is time out of the week that I could be doing other things, but I consistently make the effort to go, even on days I don’t want to.
I’ve set myself a goal of achieving the $100k ViSalus Income Pendant (pictured below) by March 2014, so in 6 months time from now. I’m going to sacrifice my Sunday afternoons to devote to building the business and supporting my team.
