Ultra-purified UV-treated carbonated water, crystalline fructose, pear juice
concentrate, propylene glycol, citric acid, passion fruit (passiflora edulis) juice concentrate, natural flavours, blueberry juice concentrate, raspberry juice concentrate, strawberry juice concentrate, cherry juice concentrate, cranberry juice concentrate, maltodextrin, quinine hydrochloride.

Let’s take a detailed look at the Visalus NEON Ingredients.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea is generally recognised as a healthy source of caffeine, which is one of the most widely used stimulants in the world. Up to 400mg of caffeine is considered safe per day for adults, and NEON contains 80mg caffeine per can. So you could have up to five cans a day without exceeding your recommended maximum daily amount of caffeine.

Prickly PearsPricky Pear Puree

This is an amazing ingredient that is farmed in hot sunny climates such as Texas, USA. The pear-like fruit is harvested from the top of the Opuntia cactus!

It happens to be an excellent source of natural vitamin C, and the mineral magnesium as well as other vitamins and minerals.

It also contains a range of phyto-nutrients which could have anti-oxidant properties.

Gotu Kola Leaf

This herb grows in the Himalayas, and offers support for good memory function. It may also help with the repair of tissue in the body, notably connective tissue.

passion fruitUltra-purified UV-treated carbonated water

To ensure that the product you receive is free from any impurities, the water is first filtered to remove all impurities, then UV-treated to remove any microscopic organisms such as bacteria and viruses, and then carbonated to give NEON energy drink a sparkle when you pour it into the glass.

Crystalline Fructose

Unlike high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) used in most energy drinks, Visalus use crystalline fructose in NEON energy drink which is nearly 100% pure fructose, without any of the glucose normally found in HFCS.

Crystalline fructose is sweeter than HFCS meaning that less needs to be included in the product to achieve the same level of sweetness, this helps to make NEON a lower calorie energy drink than competitors products.

As NEON does not have as high levels of glucose as other energy drinks, it may lead to lower levels of blood glucose levels in the body, which may be of benefit to people with diabetes.

blueberry24% Fruit Juice

NEON contains 24% fruit juice by volume including pear, passion fruit, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, cherry, and cranberry. This gives the drink a refreshing tropical taste without any artificial flavourings.

Propylene Glycol

This organic compound is a viscous colourless liquid with a faintly sweet taste. A very small quantity is used to help the flavours of the product mix together and stay stable during the shelf-life of the product.

Raspberry with leaves

Citric Acid

A very small quantity is used as an acidity regulator in the product, and as a preservative. Citric acid is synthesised on a large scale, but is identical to the citric acid found in citrus fruits such as lemons.

Natural Flavours

NEON Energy Drink contains a very small quantity natural flavourings in addition to the natural fruit juice concentrates to give the product its distinctive tropical taste. The flavourings are all obtained from natural sources.

A small amount of the starch maltodextrin is in NEON energy, used as a food additive, it improves the mouth-feel of the product, increasing the thickness of the liquid slightly.

Quinine Hydrochloride

NEON contains a minute amount of quinine hydrochloride, which gives the energy drink its unique glow under ultra-violet light.

This glow helps to make NEON energy drink an attractive drink in nightclubs and bars.

There is not enough quinine in the drink to have any health benefits, but quinine has traditionally been used as an antimalarial drug, and is the ingredient that gives Indian tonic water its unique taste.
